Proposed schedule for a stay in Bałtów:

1. Guided tour in Bałtów
  • Drucki-Lubecki Dukes castle from the turn of the 19th century, with a landscape park from the 17th century (an area of about 10 hectares);
  • The Sorrowful Mother church from the 19th century, with an antique altar and decorative paintings by Franciszek Woroń – the disciple of Jan Matejko;
  • „Modrzewie” (‘Larches’) reserve – an area of 5 hectares, with steep gorges cut in loess slopes, 300 years old specimens of Polish larch, reaching a height of 35 m;
  • "Ulów" reserve – with numerous nature monuments
  • Jurassic and Cretaceous rocks exposures, caves

  • picturesque loess gorges reaching 20 m depth, karst springs in Kamienna river valley;

  • 3. Rafting in Kamienna river - www.baltow.info
    Rafting along a distance of 4 km in Kamienna river valley consumes about 1 hour. Three rafts, each accomodating about 12 people, are available for tourists.

    4. Stay in horse riding farm - „Kraina Koni” (‘Horse Land’)
    The Horse Land is located in the vicinity of the Park. It offers mounted rides for children, youth and adults. It is also possible to take a ride in a chaise or a carriage. There is a barbecue site in the farm.

    5. Archaeology and Nature Reserve (8 km from Bałtów towards Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski)
    The best preserved mine of banded flint in Europe, from the period 3500-1600 years BC. There are two underground tourist routes in the reserve, and a reconstructed neolithic village from 5000 years ago. Archaeology workshops are held in the village. A visit to the reserve takes about 45 minutes.

    6. Bałtów Zoo

    Over 20 species of wild animals live currently in the 40 hectare area of the ‘Bałtów Zoo’. These are for example: Dybowski’s deers, fallow deers, mufflons, Scottish cattle, chamois, racka, Cameroon and other species of sheep, lamas, Polish and hucul horses, nilgau antelopes, dromedaries, ostriches, emus and others. All of them can be watched in an environment similar to their natural habitats, from a short distance. Tours in the ‘Bałtów Zoo’ are possible only in yellow schoolbusses, in order to provide comfort and safety between those beautiful, but still wild animals.
